First clashes of the groups saw Turkey versus Norway and Poland versus Russia with Turkish and Russian teams winning.

Norway started off the competition with a 2 point lead on the first end, but the hosting nation fired back with two four point ends early on, building a significant advantage. The deficit was preserved until the seventh end, on which the Norwegians started to get their comeback and keeping up with with the sports world's latest trend.

A total of five points in the following two ends for the trailing Norway took the match to an extra end, where the Scandinavians fell short and lost on the last stone. Turkey played the extra end better to reach their first victory of EYOF 2017.

In the other match of the day, Russia managed to defeat Poland with yet another close match, winning 7-6.

Curling group matches will continue untill Thursday, with the medals will be at stake on Friday the 17th.
