The event took place from 3 to 10 January in Oestersund, Sweden. Turkey’s both girls and boys’ national teams reached the final and won silver medal.

Girls’ national team, which included Berivan Polat and Mihriban Polat who’ll represent Turkey at the EYOF 2017, have won all of their eight games until the final but they lost the final game to Scotland led by Sophie Jackson.  

CHINA WINS THE BOYS’ SIDE

Boys’ team, which included Oğuzhan Karakurt who’ll be represent Turkey at the EYOF 2017, finished their group on second place and beat their opponents at the quarter and semi-final. They lost the final game to China by score of 5-2.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IS IN FEBRUARY

Countries who were on the podium in Sweden, will have a chance to compete at the World Junior Curling Championship in Gangneung, South Korea.

Here are the participating countries;

Girls: Canada, Hungary, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey and USA.  

Boys: Canada, China, Italy, South Korea, Norway, Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey and USA.

Turkish girls and boys’ national teams have won silver medals at the World Junior-B Curling Championships (WJBCC). Curling athletes who will represent Turkey at the EYOF 2017 were also among them.
